Weld-On Axle Housing Bracket creates a permanent anchor point that welds directly to the axle
Mac's Weld-On Axle Housing Bracket is made from 1/4" steel tube which is cut on a tube laser then tumbled for a smooth finish. Designed to be low-lying and to perfectly accept our Twisted Snap Hook, the Mac's Weld-On Axle Housing Bracket creates the perfect permanent tie-down point on nearly any vehicle.
Prevent Strap Abrasion and Avoid Critical Vehicle Components
The Weld-On Axle Housing Bracket removes the need for an axle strap, thus creating an abrasion-free tie-down situation. Instead of routing an axle strap over potentially sharp areas, simply clip a ratchet strap to the bracket and run it out to your tie-down point.
In addition, by eliminating the need for an axle strap, you also eliminate possible contact with critical vehicle components such as brake lines, wires, and hoses that may be in the way when tying down around the axle.
This is also an excellent solution for off-road vehicles that have modified axles or axle trusses, which can be bulky or have rough edges. Mount a pair of these brackets prior to adding your choice of finish and you'll have a beautiful, permanent tie-down point.
Suitable for a variety of vehicles
The updated design of the Mac's Weld-On Axle Housing Bracket makes it a great fit for a wide variety of vehicles.
Use this bracket on low-profile vehicles to avoid spending time on the ground and under the vehicle when tying down to the axle. When installed on classic cars, it helps prevent damage to paint and body, as the only point of contact for the strap becomes the bracket itself. The shape and size of this bracket will fit a wide variety of axle diameters.
Easy Installation
To install this bracket, select the correct position for the bracket based on your vehicle and needs, clean off a spot on the housing, and weld the curved portion of the bracket directly to the axle. Check out our installation video to the right!
Strong and Durable Straps Featuring our Easy Release Ratchet
Fabricated using the thickest material and highest stitch count available, each 2 inch strap is rated for a 10,000 lb operating load. The hooks on both ends are designed so the latches are oriented perfectly when attaching to trailer mount points and the Weld-On Axle Housing Bracket.
Only the highest quality strap material is used, which significantly improves chafing and UV resistance over "standard" straps.
Recent design changes to our ratchet handles make them better than ever! The strap mandrel is now free-wheeling, eliminating any "stickiness" common when adjusting most other ratchets.
The one piece handle and addition of mandrel caps makes this handle 40% more rigid and keeps debris out of the moving parts.
Strap Wraps Hold Your Straps Neatly in Place
Your Ultra Pack kit comes with Macs Strap Wraps. After securing your vehicle, use these to neatly hold excess strapping in place.
And when you've arrived, use them to bundle each strap for storage in the included heavy duty Macs padded bag. The tough canvas body is ready to handle your tie down hardware, with a heavy-duty, large-lug zipper that is easily grasped when holding gloves. An internal frame supports the bag when open, making the contents more accessible. The integral handles are made of black webbing that wraps around the bottom for better weight support and a hook-and-loop strap wraps around the handles to keep them together for easy transport.
Introducing Our New "Direct Hook" End Option
We offer both "sewn" and "direct hook" end configurations, however the direct hook is by far the most popular, since it keeps the ratchet handle out from under your chassis.
The sewn end is the traditional end configuration, where a fixed length of webbing separates the attachment hook from the ratchet handle.
The Direct Hook option connects the attachment hook directly to the ratchet handle, moving it out to your attach point to give you superior access, especially in cases where chassis clearance might be a problem. We recommend this end style for most applications.
Optional Chain Extensions for Stake Pockets
Using a standard hook configuration on a stake pocket is asking for trouble, since it takes the hook 90 degrees out of the line of force for which it was designed. Select the chain extension option to safely tie down to a stake pocket if your trailer doesn't have D-rings. With chain extensions, you can pull in any direction while maintaining the 10,000 lb load capacity.
