When it comes to your spare, you only miss it when you need it. Our Y-Strap is built to the same high standards we use for our automotive tie downs, so you'll never have to worry about your spare disembarking prematurely. The quality of a Mac's Y-Strap is good insurance against a blown tire in the middle of nowhere.
Our 1" wide Y-Strap is a lighter weight version of our 2" wide Y-Strap, and is ideal for vehicles with tires ranging 26" to 32" in diameter.

We start with our premium 1" strapping. Rated to 4,000lbs, the select nylon webbing material we use offers superior chafing and UV resistance.
During construction of the Y-Strap, we sew all ends using the highest stitch count in the industry. You can see this in our characteristic "double box" stitch pattern that ensures maximum tear resistance. The result is a strap with an incredible 2,800lb Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) more than enough to handle any dynamic loading.
Designed to look good on your vehicle
Our 1" Y-Strap is designed to enhance the look of your vehicle, as well. We've made all three legs adjustable. With a one-time adjustment of the two "fixed" legs of your y-strap, your ratchet will automatically position itself on the center of your spare each time you tighten it.
Then, there's the look of our premium nylon webbing, the workmanship of our hand stitching, the zinc finish of our hardware and the color options. Each detail is combines for a look that is impressive.
Easy Release Ratchet
The ratchet on the Y-Strap is formed from a single piece of steel, making it significantly more rigid than the competition. Then, mandrel caps are added to keep the dirt out and increase rigidity. The result is a true free-wheeling mandrel and release mechanism that works fast and easy.

Adjustable Loop
The Adjustable Loop option is intended to attach to frame elements, such as a roll bar or rail, by threading the strap around the structure, then back through the heavy-duty adjustment buckle. The structure to be used should be smooth and free of features that my cut or chaff the strap.

Flat Snap Hook
The Flat Snap Hook system consists of spring-loaded captive hooks at each end. This attachment style offers the advantage of preventing the strap from disconnecting even when slack develops. This makes securing cargo easier and is an added measure of safety for the journey.
Flat Snap Hooks can be used with most anchor points (e.g., D Rings) or track systems (e.g., VersaTie, E-Track, etc.), provided the hard points and fittings support the load requirement.
